Most of these were taken by Natasha. She, Kael, and I made a raft out of all natural things - sticks tied together with reeds and strong grass, a sail out of leaves threaded onto two reeds, and so forth. And it worked! Until it got trapped in some branches that hung over the water, and then it sank. Oh well. We were still very proud of ourselves.

The floors (the whole house has hardwoord floors, except the kitchen and the bathrooms) were completely refinished - they really needed it - and all the walls in the house were repainted except for four rooms - the dining room, my room, my mother's room, and the downstairs bathroom.

• The dining room, which wasn't painted and thus was used as storage. (The peach walls and flowered curtains, by the way, are completely my mother's doing. I hate them with a passion.)
